The WARN (Wide Area Rapid Notification) System is used to notify citizens of emergency or important events.  The telephone system is used to notify all customers quickly and is capable of reaching the entire population of Jackson County within twenty-five minutes.  Examples of emergency events where WARN could be used are: hazardous material spills, tornado warnings, severe inclement weather, health hazards and other events deemed appropriate.  The Jackson County telephone data bank includes all landlines (home/office phones wired to Verizon or Frontier).  Wireless (cell) phones are not included in the WARN notificatin system.  If you would like to have your wireless phone added to the telephone data bank for notification of an emergency event; please complete the form and submit it.
